Teacher Killed and Two Dozen Pupils Seized in Firefight at School in Nigeria
Gun-wielding individuals have killed a teacher and kidnapped no fewer than 25 pupils in an raid targeting a girls' secondary school in Nigeria's northwestern region, according to police.
The armed faction stormed the public educational institution for female students in Maga, Kebbi State at around 4 AM local time on the beginning of the work week, police confirmed.
The assailants "engaged police personnel on duty in a shootout" before scaling the perimeter fence and abducting the learners from their living quarters, according to a statement.
