In a unexpected partnership that breaks traditional predictions, Ubisoft has announced an virtual partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, offering free additional story content for Shadows players.

Peculiar Questline Uncovered

According to the official statement, "An unusual confrontation draws characters Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where whispers of banned rituals and monstrous changes reverberate through the shadows." The plot features a "oddly garbed woman named Ada" who charges the duo with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to save her ally from a hidden group.

The questline focuses on "strange tests and a terrifying foe" and is accessible to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.

Iconic Places and Changes

The preview highlights the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This important location was earlier where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The trailer concludes with a dramatic scene showing a character, probably the hostage, transforming into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.

Special Prizes and Bonus Content

Players who finish the quest will receive an unique katana in addition to multiple artifacts concealed throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also contains in-store Attack on Titan item packs, including:

Newest Free Story Content

This update also introduces the game's newest complimentary story addition, titled "A Puzzlement." This lighthearted quest pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they trade characteristic abilities: Naoe reveals a dramatic variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters subduing stealth takedowns. True to its name, "A Puzzlement" also features a fresh environmental puzzle that may ultimately shed light on some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
